In this episode of A Changed Mind, David Bayer uses cymatics, the study of how vibration organizes matter into visible patterns, to answer a practical question: what have you been practicing energetically that is holding your current reality in place?

He opens with the classic demonstration. Scatter sand on a metal plate, run sound through it, and the sand organizes into complex geometric patterns. Change the frequency and the pattern reorganizes into something entirely different. David traces the lineage from Ernst Chladni, who made plates vibrate with a violin bow centuries ago, to Hans Jenny, who documented the phenomenon across sand, powders, pastes and liquids and coined the term, to Masaru Emoto and the water crystal experiments with labeled jars. The principle underneath all of it: vibration organizes a material, the quality of the frequency determines the structure, and the structure holds as long as the vibration persists.

Then he makes the translation. What if reality is a field of potential, and your energy is the influence shaping it? You have thousands of thoughts a day, each triggering emotions, all of it electrical activity through your brain and nervous system, plus the 12,000 to 16,000 words the average person speaks. David’s framing is memorable: you are the violinist, and the pattern you are holding in place is called your life. Which raises the question he spends the episode on. What label are you putting on the jar?

This is where the Two States of Being come in. In a primal state you are running thoughts like I’m behind, nobody cares, this will never work, and David makes the sharper point that only your thoughts move you there, not your bank balance or your circumstances. He shares a live example from that morning, the pressure to get something right, and what it actually costs him: less patience, less presence, pressure on the people around him when what the situation needed was room to think.

He also handles the health question with real care, acknowledging what it is like to be told you caused your condition by thinking wrong, and keeping the physical condition real while asking whether a daily battle with your body is itself a label. He shares his own ten years single, two homes in foreclosure, failed business, credit card debt, and what actually changed, which was not a financial strategy or a dating app profile. The episode closes with the Decision Matrix run live: find the worry, name the belief, choose the opposite label, then build evidence for it until the new belief becomes the predominant one.
