Episode 045 – My Daily Personal Practice for Transforming My Limiting Beliefs

Today, I want to share with you hands down the most powerful practice I’ve ever used to transform my limiting beliefs. This practice comes from more than a decade of intense focus on transformation, exploring everything from breath work to cognitive behavioral psychology, to somatic release, plant medicine, and MDMA therapy. I’ve put my body through extreme circumstances and situations—whether it’s cold, heat, or fasting—to bring forth trauma and resolve it.
Your Brain: A Goal-Achieving Machine
Your beliefs create your reality. Your brain is a goal-achieving machine. If there is some situation or circumstance that you want to transform in your life, that change is the result of a changed mind. Over the last seven years, we’ve had over 10,000 coaching conversations with high-performing entrepreneurs, identifying patterns and refining tools and technologies to create radical, rapid change in the way individuals think and therefore the results in their lives.
In other words, real change starts in the brain—it’s the capacity to use your mind to downregulate your nervous system, overwriting memories or programs learned at an early age that show up as trauma or limiting beliefs today. These beliefs shape the emotional and psychological lens through which you experience your life, causing problems not only in terms of lack of joy around money, time, relationships, or business but also in creating situations and circumstances.
3 Steps To Transform Your Limiting Beliefs
- Notice Your State: Notice when you’ve moved into a primal state. You don’t have to do anything—just be aware.
- Examine Your Thinking: Pay attention to what you’re thinking. Identify the thoughts causing your emotional state.
- Acknowledge the Untruth: Recognize that if your thoughts don’t feel good, they’re not true. This breaks the pattern of limiting beliefs.
I look at this tool as a living meditation. It’s not about sitting in a corner, closing your eyes, and focusing on your breathing. It’s a practice you can engage with at any moment throughout your day. Every time you engage in the practice, you do a new repetition, building new psychological, emotional, and spiritual muscle, becoming more confident, faithful, abundant, and prosperous.
My Story of Transformation
To give you a better understanding of its power, let me share my own transformation story. This practice took me from being a drug addict and an alcoholic, running a company with several million dollars raised, but experiencing financial scarcity, unhealthy relationships, and no spiritual connection, to living my purpose, creating a successful company, marrying the woman of my dreams, and feeling connected daily to a higher power. This transformation didn’t require digging up old trauma or knowing what my limiting beliefs were; it was about using this tool to rewrite the programs causing me to be someone I was never meant to be.
The Two States of Being
So, what makes this tool so effective? It’s rooted in understanding the two states of being: powerful states and primal states. Powerful states are when you’re in emotions like joy, curiosity, excitement, calm, peace, and bliss. These states allow you to have compassion, empathy, connection, and solutions. Primal states, on the other hand, are emotions that don’t feel good, like stress, anxiety, overwhelm, anger, and jealousy. These states lead to self-sabotage, comparison, procrastination, and desperation.
The Importance of Powerful States
Spending as much time as possible in powerful states is crucial for a powerful living experience. When you feel good, you do good. Your nervous system is either in a parasympathetic state (rest and relaxation) or a sympathetic state (fight, flight, or freeze). Your goal is to operate more consistently from a powerful state of being, knowing that it’s your thinking—not the experiences themselves—that determines whether you’re in a powerful or primal state.
To illustrate this further, let me share a real-life example. I recently coached a woman whose child had autism. She was overwhelmed, believing her child’s behavior disrupted her plans and dreams. By recognizing her primal state and understanding that her thinking wasn’t true, she was able to show up with patience and compassion. Remarkably, her child’s behavior improved, reflecting her own anxiety and showing her that her child’s behavior was enhanced by her limiting beliefs.
Embracing the Practice
Living this practice means constantly checking in with your emotional state and adjusting your thinking. It’s not about perfection but about making new repetitions in a new direction. Over time, you build new mental and emotional muscle, leading to profound changes in your life. You don’t need to know what’s true; just acknowledge that if your thinking doesn’t feel good, it’s not true. As an additional step, ask the universe or your higher power for right perception. This helps align your thinking with the truth and opens you up to new insights and solutions.
The Miracle of Life
Every moment of your life is a miracle, intelligently designed to support your well-being. When you align your thinking with this truth, you transform your life. Problems are not the problem—your perception of them is. Change your perception, and your life changes.

The way to experience that reality now is to identify and transform the limiting beliefs holding you back. This tool is the simplest and most efficient method I’ve found to achieve that.
